On 4/5 I got a call that there was a kitten at Dunlap & Kyle that needed to be picked up. They have no idea how he got there, and he was only about 4 weeks old at the time. They named him Gutter, because they found him in the parking lot gutter. The same day I got another frantic call from Morris Lawn Service about a kitten that was found in the back of one of their work trucks. He turned out to be about 2 weeks old. Emily took both of them and they are doing really well.   Monday 4/8 someone threw 4 kittens out on the side of Bell Road in a box. They were no more than 2-3 days old. They are in with a nursing mom in Sardis and are thriving. On Thursday I got a call about a friendly stray someone let in so she could have her kittens in safety. I've been trying to save room in our Caternity Ward for cats who are in immediate danger, but I'm really glad I took her. Most of us were sick or incredibly busy over the winter, but kitten season is here. In the last five days, two people have called with neonatal kittens that were likely abandoned by their mothers. One is approximately 4 weeks old, and the other is maybe 2 weeks old and doesn't even have teeth yet. Thankfully Emily is a saint and is taking care of both of them. I was going to take Gutter off her hands now that he has recovered from dehydration, but we both agree the little one will probably do better with an older buddy to keep warm. The GREAT news is that three of the Como brood were adopted. Enid, Fred, and Russ all went to new homes and are doing great. Como still needs to find his #furever home. He's neutered and UTD on shots. He's a very sweet boy and would love to be someone's lap cat. Did I mention that he's an awesome ratter too? He WAS adopted , but the family had allergy issues so he came back to me. UPDATE: Como is going to his new home today (4/10/19)
